During a session you may encounter connection issues in the Virtual Classroom, you may at times encounter various issues. This includes interruptions in other participants’ audio and video feed or delay in seeing updates on the white board. Disconnections can also occur. The most common cause for this is issues with your internet connection. This may include a low download or upload speed, or sudden drops in your connection speed (interrupting internet connection).
In case you experience interruptions in your internet connection or your internet connection speed is low and you are using a Wi-Fi connection, we suggest plugging directly into a cable connection instead of Wi-Fi if possible.
The reason for this is that cable internet connection is more stable than Wi-Fi connection, because of less fluctuation between maximum and minimum speed.
- In case you are using a Wi-Fi connection, move as close to the router as possible. This will help your device receive a stronger and more stable Wi-Fi signal.
- If there are multiple devices (laptops, tablets, phones, etc.) connected to the same network, it is best to disconnect them from the network, since all devices connected to the same network share the network’s connection resources (bandwidth), thus making the connection slower for all connected devices
In case that does not help:
- Please close all other browsers or tabs in the current browser or other running applications which use an internet connection – chat applications, download/torrent software or other software solutions that may lower your internet connection speed.
- If you are experiencing audio interruptions or video lag in the virtual classroom, during the session you can change your video quality. Go to menu under your name at the upper, right corner and change the Video Quality from High to Low.
